The "G6 Shortener" is a stainless steel chain with a high chromium concentration (approximately 22%), which is said to be more resistant to rust than SUS316, offering superior corrosion resistance. It excels in pitting corrosion resistance and is also strong against stress corrosion cracking, which has been problematic with austenitic steels like SUS304 and SUS316. It is said to achieve a pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN ≧ 33), indicating good resistance in normal seawater.
